In an unbelievable story, the Associated Press reports of an 11-year-old girl driving under the influence at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour, crashing the vehicle and suffering minor injuries.

It happened in Orange Beach, Alabama, where police began chasing a speeder at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. The girl driving the car sped up, collided with another car, and eventually flipped the vehicle, causing it to roll after reaching the Gulf Shores city limit.

The high speed chase covered about 8 miles. The officers were surprised to find an 11-year-old girl under the influence of alcohol driving the car involved in the chase and motor vehicle accident.

She has, of course, been charged with DUI, speeding, reckless endangerment and many other infractions. One must ask the question: where were her parents and how did she get into this predicament?
