Two men die in weekend car accidents

Two Mobile County men died in separate one-car accidents over the weekend. A report from The Press-Register Monday details both tragic motor vehicle crashes.

The first accident, on Saturday, involved a 1999 Chevrolet pickup truck that ran off Tanner Williams Road, rolled over and struck a tree. A passenger who was not wearing his seatbelt was thrown from the vehicle and died. Two other passengers were critically injured, and the driver and a fourth passenger incurred only minor injuries.

The second accident occurred on Sunday evening when a man driving a Buick LeSabre ran off the road and hit a tree, causing the car to catch on fire. The driver, who was the only person in the car, died in the crash.
