Motorcyclist in Critical Condition After Colliding with SUV

A motorcycle accident involving an SUV, on Friday, shut down the southbound lanes of Shug Jordan Parkway for over a half hour.

The accident occured when a motorcyclist, 25, of Opelika, was traveling south on Shug Jordan Parkway and a Chevy Suburban was traveling north and made a left turn onto North Donahue and they collided, according to Auburn Police Department.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in the accident and was transported by helicopter to East Alabama Medical Center. The driver of the SUV was not injured in the collision.
