OSHA requires employers to post injuries

Each year on Feb. 1, the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires employers to post the total number of work-related injuries and illnesses their employees experienced during the previous year.

Employers are required to post OSHA Form 300A from Feb. 1 through April 30, 2007, with a summary of all the worksite injuries and illnesses their exployees had during 2006.

A news release posted on insurancenewsnet.com details the requirements as set forth by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, employers are responsible for providing a safe and healthful workplace for their employees. OSHA's role is to assure the safety and health of America's working men and women by setting and enforcing standards; providing training, outreach, and education; establishing partnerships; and encouraging continual process improvement in workplace safety and health.
